Award-Winning TV Chef Announces Upcoming Launch of Polish-Inspired Food Kiosk

Award-winning TV chef and food pioneer Damian Wawrzyniak, best known for his popular Cambridgeshire restaurant House of Feasts, has announced that the very first Pierogi Kiosk will open in Central London later this year.

Pierogi Kiosk is the latest of Wawrzyniak’s contributions to the UK food industry, aiming to bring one of the most beloved comfort foods from his home country of Poland to the streets of Britain. Two Pierogi Kiosk franchises have already been sold, and the chef is understood to be in talks with other interested buyers across the nation.

Pierogi, which originate from Central and Eastern Europe, are a filled dumpling, similar in appearance to a Japanese gyoza. They are made by creating either a sweet or savoury filling, and wrapping it up inside an unleavened dough. Pierogi can either be boiled, for a soft texture, or pan fried for a crispier taste. All Pierogi Kiosk dumplings will be produced by the highly skilled, award-winning House of Feasts kitchen team, and a selection of alternative menu items are expected to be offered alongside the pierogi. While the exact menu has yet to be finalised, it is believed that sourdough sandwiches filled with salt beef and pastrami will feature, following the huge popularity of Chef Damian’s sourdough bread at House of Feasts.

“Street food is popular across the world, but the options available here in the UK are severely lacking,” says Wawrzyniak. “More and more people are leading busy lives, they want to eat on-the-go but they also want to explore new flavours and try new things, and that’s exactly what Pierogi Kiosk aims to do: combine the convenience of the fast food culture with authentically different cuisine that tickles the taste buds.

“For me, it’s always been about introducing diners to Polish dishes with a British twist”.

Franchise opportunities for Pierogi Kiosk are available now, with the £18,000 + VAT franchise agreement including kitchen design, menu rotation, staff training, suppliers, food safety and hygiene requirements, alongside comprehensive, ongoing support.

With the unprecedented success of House of Feasts, it is expected that Pierogi Kiosk, managed by the same team, will experience similar levels of accomplishment. The brand will continue to be overseen by Chef Damian, who has made headlines for cooking for the Royal family, baking with Mary Berry, and working in some of the world’s most prestigious restaurants, including Denmark’s Scandinavian venue Noma.

Pierogi Kiosk is expected to be launched throughout shopping malls, train stations, and major marketplaces in the UK, with the first locations to be announced shortly. The first Pierogi Kiosk franchises will be launched in London by the end of 2019.
