Retailer Unveils This Year’s Must Have Children’s Gifts

Personalised gift retailer GiftPup has unveiled what look to be this year’s most in demand Christmas gifts for kids after early sales and browsing figures suggest that several items are already in hot demand.

The retailer’s research indicates that traditional soft toys and snuggly furnishings are set to trend for Christmas 2019. The firm’s Charlie Bear soft toy is already surging ahead in the seasonal sales stakes, suggesting grandparents, friends and family could be favouring more traditional presents over expensive high-tech gadgets to go under the tree this year.

For kids that love to snuggle down in front of a good movie, personalised photo cushions are also amongst GiftPup’s top sellers now the early Christmas shopping season is underway.

While the start of autumn might seem a little early to be thinking about gift giving, reports show that Christmas shopping has already started in earnest with online searches for Christmas toys doubling at this time of year.

“Summer may only just over, but website statistics show that our customers are already beginning to consider gift ideas,” says GiftPup Product Manager, Emily Ford. “We’re starting to see a significant increase in orders for toys and other children’s items as families get ready to wrap up exciting gifts to stack up in Santa’s sack in preparation for a great Christmas morning.

“What’s notable this year is that early best-sellers are very much traditional in nature with stuffed bears, soft toys and things like money boxes all very popular. We think that this could be part of a wider movement to be a little more sustainable and go back to good old fashioned gift giving,  rather than pricey electronics and computer games.”

Along with soft toys, GiftPup also expects children’s accessories and school supplies to top Christmas shopping lists this year. Its personalised money boxes, accessories like the dinosaur watch and unicorn watch, and school supplies such as notebooks and photo rucksacks are already showing signs of selling out.

“This year, we’re really expecting kids to find more personalised toys in their sacks and stocking than ever before,” says Ford. “We’re no longer getting the big surge of pre-Christmas launches, with new toys hitting the shelves all throughout the year. When it comes to Christmas, friends and family want to make sure they’re getting the little ones something they can be sure they don’t already have, and personalised items and toys that can’t be picked up on the high street are proving to be the perfect solution.”
