Special Christmas Gifts Shouldn’t Break the Bank, Says Online Retailer

Following predictions that parents are set to spend an average of £21 per present this Christmas, one online retailer is hitting back, claiming that a special festive season doesn’t have to cost a fortune. GiftPup offers a wide range of personalised toys, children’s watches, stationery, and kid’s bedroom decor that can all be customised for the recipient, with many products coming in well under the £21 estimation.

The idea of personalised gifts for kids is one that has grown in popularity this year, with an increasing number of parents, family members and friends opting to purchase presents that are unusual, individual, unique, and one-of-a-kind. GiftPup recently reported that 2019 has been its best year to date, with a 35% rise in revenue as the personalisation trend has taken off.

“We know that there’s a common misconception amongst shoppers that personalised gifts are expensive because they’ve been custom made to order. The message that we want to share as Christmas shopping really starts to get underway is that customisable items can actually be much more affordable than off-the-shelf alternatives,” says GiftPup’s Ecommerce Manager James Taylor.

“While £21 per gift may not seem much, when parents are purchasing 10, 20, or even more gifts for their children, the cost can really add up, and we want to ensure that mums and dads across the country know that great, meaningful gifts don’t have to be so heavy on the budget.”

Earlier this year, The Telegraph reported that UK households were expected to spend £473.83 on average on Christmas presents in 2019. According to a prior Deloitte survey, that’s almost £175 more than what shoppers anticipated they would spend on Christmas gifts in 2018, suggesting around a 59% increase in festive spending in just 12 months. GiftPup, however, is keen for shoppers to explore more affordable options, helping them to save money while gifting unique presents that children won’t have seen on the shelves.

Amongst the special yet affordable gifts offered by GiftPup are 20 gold embossed colouring pencils at £6.99, custom-printed notebooks for £7.99, and a soft, personalised teddy bear for £9.99, with delivery discounts available on all orders over £30. And for kids with an especially sweet tooth, GiftPup also adds a touch of excitement to chocolate bars, cookies, and bonbons with personalised confectionery and sweet trees made from classic favourites.
