Sustainability and Style: Fieldtrip Supplies Unveils Exclusive Collaboration with Yarmouth Oilskins

Fieldtrip Supplies, a family-run UK business renowned for its high-quality outdoor products, has announced a brand new partnership with Yarmouth Oilskins. The collaboration will see Yarmouth Oilskins fabric offcuts used to create limited edition storage bags for Fieldtrip Supplies’ stackable, insulated Expedition Cup Set.

Tristan Watson, co-founder of Fieldtrip Supplies, says, “We’ve been big fans of Yarmouth Oilskins for a while. They’re a 125-year-old company who make incredible clothing from waxed cotton in a workshop in Great Yarmouth. We had a conversation with them, and the topic of waste material came up.

“Obviously, when you’re making something like a jacket, you inevitably end up with small pieces of fabric left over, and we wondered if they might be suitable for us to use in the bags that we supply with our expedition cup sets. They loved the idea and found that the leftover fabric from making their hooded smock would be just the right size for making a bag for us. And the rest is history!”

The limited-edition bags are made from the surplus fabric of Yarmouth Oilskins’ Mustard, Navy, and Brick Red Hooded smocks. The Brick Red was a special edition, now no longer available, making these bags even more unique.

This fabric, which would have otherwise gone to landfill, has been skilfully transformed into durable and stylish carriers for the Expedition Cup Set. In Fieldtrip Supplies’ workshop, these bags are finished by hand with a cotton cord and an engraved beech wood slider – creating a product that is entirely plastic-free, in packaging which is also fully recyclable.

By using leftover materials to create practical, durable and stylish products, Fieldtrip Supplies and Yarmouth Oilskins are setting a new standard in eco-friendly outdoor gear, so that everyone can enjoy the great outdoors while leaving its beauty untouched for generations to come. And with how durable the cups are, who knows – they may be sipping from them decades from now, too!

“This collaboration would never have happened without a shared love of the outdoors, and a shared vision for sustainability and innovation,” Tristan adds. “That’s what makes the combined set of cups and oilskin bags a must-have for outdoor enthusiasts who value sustainability and British craftsmanship. We are looking to keep the collaboration going, and we’re very excited to find new ways to keep bringing style, quality and sustainability to the great outdoors.”
