Hemingway, a distant relation of the writer Ernest Hemingway, came to love the blend of science and artistry as a child, when he often witnessed his grandfather, Philip Hemingway, working away at his desk, as an engineer, draughtsman and horologist. His great-grandfather, William Hemingway, was a civil engineer in Victorian times – so the family has rich streams of creativity and knowledge flowing through it for centuries.

Perhaps the easiest place to find inspiration, was in his own family …  “My aim is to put down on paper what I see and what I feel in the best and simplest way.” – Ernest Hemingway.
