Prospect of COVID Christmas Sees Sales of Sex Doll Companions Spike

The prospect of a lonely COVID-19 Christmas has seen sales of companion sex dolls spike by more than 112% this month, according to new figures from the US and European sex doll retailer, Sex Doll Genie.

The family-run firm, set up by former aerospace engineer Amit Stevenson and his wife Janet, has reported the treble digit increase as many around the world face up to a lonely festive period as a result of widespread restrictions. In order to combat the double whammy of festive loneliness and the additional COVID-19 related isolation and anxiety, a record number of people are investing in a love doll as a form of therapy or companionship.

Research[1] suggests that anxiety and depression levels have trebled in the USA since the beginning of the pandemic, while around one in four UK adults has previously experienced anxiety or depression during the festive period, according to YouGov data[2]; something that will only be exacerbated by current restrictions.
