The Rubbish Removers Secure New Headquarters Amidst Continued Growth

One of the North West’s leading rubbish removal companies is moving to new premises, enabling them to streamline operations and recycle even more waste. The Rubbish Removers, a family-run business that has been specialising in waste removal for the past 20 years, has experienced significant growth during the pandemic, and hopes to better serve its domestic and commercial customer base from its new headquarters in Dukinfield.

The move comes just six years after the firm established a new headquarters on Lord Street, Ashton-Under-Lyne, following a two-year growth period which saw The Rubbish Removers Ltd grow by an impressive 50%. The new office on Outram Road is located less than three miles from the previous headquarters.

The move is certainly necessary, with The Rubbish Removers family doubling since the start of the global health crisis in a bid to meet growing demand. The company is currently collecting record amounts of domestic and commercial waste, totalling around 100 tonnes of rubbish each and every month in addition to transporting more than 100 fridges and upwards of 200 mattresses to suitable recycling facilities located across the North West.

Chris Johnson, The Rubbish Removers Managing Director, says “The industry went through a very challenging period at the start of lockdown; a ‘perfect storm’ of homeowners generating more waste while recycling centres and tips remained closed. Unfortunately, this sparked a rise in the number of unlicensed removals companies who simply dump rubbish or fly tip, rather than disposing of waste in a compliant, responsible, and ethical manner.

“That’s what’s really been the driving force behind our expansion. We’re striving to extend our reliable, professional and trustworthy services to even more households and businesses across the North West and Yorkshire, giving our customers peace of mind that their rubbish is in the best hands.”

Chris, who founded The Rubbish Removers Ltd alongside wife Diane, is not the only one to notice an increase in waste removal demand over the past two years. It’s been reported that household rubbish increased by 20% during the pandemic, with the average household throwing out 1.2 tonnes of waste. To address this increasing demand, The Rubbish Removers extended services from Greater Manchester to incorporate the whole of the North West and Yorkshire.

So what’s next on the growth plan for The Rubbish Removers Ltd? Vehicles. “We’re actively upgrading our fleet of vehicles to be more efficient and ecofriendly, and we’re excited to begin our journey towards carbon neutrality.”
