Dakota Digital has been awarded a £3000 business growth grant by Mansfield District Council
The funding from the Mansfield District Council Business Growth scheme supports ambitious growth plans and will facilitate the creation of two brand new full time jobs at the agency.
Rebecca Appleton, Dakota Digital managing director who was recently nominated for a Women in Business Rising Star award said, “I’m thrilled that we have been chosen to receive a business growth grant, which shows how well we are doing. It’s a real vote of confidence for our expansion plans. The grant has been used along with our own investment to help finance our move from a business centre into our own dedicated facilities on White Hart Street. We had outgrown our old office with the addition of new staff so the support of the Business Growth Scheme has really been key.
“In addition to the new jobs this grant will help us create, we also have a series of very exciting initiatives in the works including the launch of our free PR clinic for local businesses and no cost digital marketing drop in centre which will be based at our new town-centre location.”
The Mansfield District Council Business Growth scheme is one of two new grants introduced this year by the council to support local businesses and start-ups. The Growth scheme is specifically for established businesses who produce a viable ‘Growth Plan’ that will result in the creation of at least two full time jobs. The grant can be used in those instances where the business requires support in developing its ‘Growth Plan’ as well as costs involved in implementing the plan. These could involve product development/enhancement, process development within the business as well as development of new markets.
The funding is drawn from the Economic Stimulus fund, which is a package of measures designed to boost local business growth and jobs.
Launched in 2011, Dakota Digital has been a stand out success, with a series of big client wins in the last 12 months including commissions from Johnson’s Baby Shampoo, Splenda, Compeed and beauty brand Neutrogena.
