A new ethical lifestyle and homewares retailer has opened its virtual doors in Hong Kong with a treasure-trove of unique, sustainably sourced products from a global network of artisan producers.

Artysans’ beautiful home and lifestyle products are fair-trade and sustainable, handcrafted using time honoured techniques from around the globe. The beautiful, unique finds are carefully sourced from social enterprises and fair trade groups, with a focus on empowering craftswomen and makers.

Standout pieces in the home décor category include beautiful Bolga baskets painstakingly woven by hand in Ghana, coloured with traditional plant and mineral dyes and finished with a soft and supple foldable leather handle.   Kantha handmade bedspreads are produced by women rescued from human trafficking in Bangladesh while Hmong embroidered cushions make a colourful statement, crafted by tribal women in Thailand renowned for their needlework.

Roha tea towels for the kitchen are handwoven in Ethiopia, each a work of art created by a talented artisan honouring a centuries old tradition. There are Kramas – Cambodia’s ancestral cotton scarf – to be discovered in the fashion department, made by a co-operative of female weavers in Phnom Penh and hand-knotted Saba jute and leather clutches made in Bangladesh’s most remote, rural regions.
