Award-winning rubbish removal company to offer free London toy collection for charity

A multi-award winning rubbish removal company is putting its expertise to good use this festive season as it continues an annual free collection for unwanted toys in the nation’s capital.

Kwik Sweep will collect the unused toys and children’s gadgets from homes and businesses around London for free in the run up to Christmas, with all toys collected going to local services and hospitals. Operating throughout the capital, this will be the third year in a row that the firm will run the collection as it strives to give back.

Kwik Sweep won two awards at the recent National Recycling Awards, taking home the trophy for best communications in the private sector for the KwikSweep App and the waste prevention award for the private sector.

Jay Law, project manager for the charity toy collection said, “We are very passionate about recycling, reusing and the environment and really pleased that we’re able to use our resources to help deliver unwanted toys to deserving new homes over Christmas. Over 40 million unwanted toys were thrown away last year with 13 million ending up in the dust bin or landfill.

“This is the third year in a row that we’ve run a toy collection and it’s our hope to collect even more toys that we did last year. All of the unwanted toys we collect go to a range of local services such as children’s charities, hospices and hospitals where they can be put to good use and collections are free.”

Homes with unwanted toys to donate can book a free collection by calling 0207 624 9215. Simply agree a convenient date and time and Kwik Sweep will then pick up the toys and distribute them to their new homes before Christmas. All toys must be in working order, be in their original packaging and have their instruction manual if applicable.
