Canine you believe it! Gift sales for pampered pooches and dog lovers grow 400% in six months

It’s official – us Brits are a nation of dog lovers. So much so, one leading pet gift retailer has reported a huge 400% increase in the number of gifts purchased for pampered pooches (and their owners) in the past six months.

Research carried out last year found that dogs and cats rule the roost in many homes, with £750 million spent on festive presents for pets at Christmas. £213 million of that spend was showered on canines with almost a third of dog owners admitting to spending more on their fur baby than their partner.
