ConnecPath EdVation Summit Tokyo Win Leads to Coveted SXSWedu Booth in Austin
The trailblazing AI driven Q and A platform ConnecPath, which connects students to the best colleges up to ten times faster than traditional methods, is celebrating after winning an exhibition booth for the prestigious SXSWedu conference in Austin, Texas.
ConnecPath secured the booth at the leading education tech event after wowing judges with a winning pitch in Tokyo during last month’s Edvation Summit. The ConnecPath team headed to the Asian hub as one of six finalists in the pitch event and saw off competition from others shortlisted to wow the judges with a compelling presentation of its chatbot-powered service.
A total of three winners were selected following the pitching contest, with the prize being a booth at the 2018 SXSWedu Conference, which will take place in Austin March 5-8.
Leo Sanada, ConnecPath Chief Executive Officer said, “SXSWedu is the most exciting edtech event in the world. I was one of 16,000 delegates in attendance last year and met a lot of amazing people, ranging from passionate educators to leading edtech entrepreneurs.
“SXSWedu is key for us – during last year’s event, I met with Muhammed Chaudhry who subsequently joined ConnecPath as an advisor so we’re incredibly pleased and proud to be exhibiting at the 2018 event. We’re very much looking forward to contributing to the event and being part of more conversations to push the education technology field forward.”
Currently in beta testing, the groundbreaking ConnecPath service was created in Silicon Valley earlier this year. The pioneering start-up has set itself an ambition target of increasing the college and career readiness of young people in massive scale to maximize their future potential. Powered by AI, the next generation ConnecPath app empowers students to find the pathways that best fit their respective passions and competences with amazing speed.
The app’s Chatbot can have a conversation via text message with students, answering answer common college application related questions and giving them instant access to relevant information. If the Chatbot doesn’t know the answer, it passes the query to its Forum where school counsellors and others in the same school can assist.
Mr. Sanada added, “In the US, an average career’s counsellor will be responsive for around 500 students. This makes it almost impossible for them to provide good quality and tailored advice to each student – this is where ConnecPath can step in. The fact that high school seniors receive around 10 minutes of time to make one of the biggest decisions of their lives in what college to apply for – and even if that is the right choice for them – formed the backbone of our winning pitch at Edvation Summit.
“It’s our objective to provide more support and faster access to information, unleashing the power of AI to save time, orchestrate teamwork and enrich subsequent student and guidance counsellor conversations.”
