Seasoned aviator will spearhead new plans for company

UAS experts Consortiq today announces the appointment of Bryan McKernan as US Director of Operations.

The appointment of Mr. McKernan is one in a number of strategic advances made by Consortiq in recent months as it consolidates a period of rapid growth. The news comes on the back of the US office opening and confirmation that Consortiq had joined the Assure Alliance to help ensure, advance and preserve drone safety through advanced research.

A retired officer in the Marine Corps, McKernan served twenty years in the armed forces, including tours of duty in Afghanistan and Iraq. His experience in aviation is not preserved to the purely practical, but also rooted in a profound understanding and experience of aviation at the policy level.

Mr. McKernan, said, “I am honored to become a member of the Consortiq team and lead this innovative company in the United States. The unmanned aviation industry is exploding and has unlimited potential. As a prior U.S. Marine, I believe the key to a successful company is taking care of your people, most importantly, the customer. If we deliver unwavering support to our customers and take care of our employees, everything else will fall into place. Work hard, support your customers & employees, and the opportunities will be endless. I have every confidence in Consortiq and the direction we’re heading and look forward to the journey we are on together!”

Now taking charge of all the long and short term plans for Consortiq in the US, Bryan McKernan graduated from The Basic School  in 1998, proceeding to undertake flight training the same year. Developing his aviation experience over the next few years, he was designated a Naval Aviator in March of 2000.

Major McKernan deployed five days after 9/11 and executed operations in support of Operation Swift Freedom/Enduring Freedom in Pakistan and Afghanistan.  Upon his return from Afghanistan, he deployed eight months later in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003 and in 2004/2005 in support of Iraqi Freedom IIB flying combat missions out of Al Asad Airbase, Iraq.

McKernan was awarded the ‘Aviation Preflight Instructor of the Year’ in 2006 in Pensacola Florida, and subsequently attended the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California, where he ascertained a Master’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration on Financial Management.

Prior to his appointment to Consortiq, Major McKernan served as the Air Officer for the Deputy Commandant, Installations and Logistics, Headquarters Marine Corps and Deputy Director of Operations for Marine Corps Installations Command.

With decorations to his name including the Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal (five strike flight awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (4)  and Combat Action Ribbon (2), there is no one better placed to continue leading Consortiq into a bright new future.

Amongst Consortiq’s specialities is a dedication to drone training, development and maintenance, ensuring companies are equipped for dealing with this unique piece of equipment now so prevalent in aviation exercises. The appointment of a seasoned aviation expert like McKernan helps reaffirm Consortiq’s commitment to excellence in drone development and usage.
