Family-run Warwickshire photography business celebrates 10 years in business

A Warwickshire-based family portrait and wedding photography business is marking a decade of capturing treasured moments with a post-lockdown re-launch.

Philip Charles Photography is a husband-and-wife team founded by Philip Aucott in 2011 and joined by Vicky Aucott in 2015. Having begun life in a small studio in Sutton Coldfield, the business has progressively grown in popularity towards its current guise as an expanded, shop-style premises in Atherstone.

The family-run business truly lives up to its name with the team inclusive of Barbara and Pam as the respective mothers of the photography duo, while their children also get involved in promotional shots for the website. Once a more generalised photography company, the business has been specialising in family portraits and weddings for the last four years.

The journey started when Philip decided to pursue his lifelong love of photography full-time after being made redundant, while Vicky has progressed from studio manager to fully qualified wedding photographer during her time at the company.

Both Philip and Vicky are currently working towards a Prestigious Master Photographers Qualification and training so as to incorporate the latest techniques and technology in order to thrive in a post-Covid world.

Despite industry pressures brought about by pandemic restrictions, the couple are pleased that their resilience has paid off and are proud to be celebrating this significant business milestone.

Commenting on the achievement, Philip said “Lockdown restrictions, which has naturally affected many peoples’ wedding plans, has meant the last year has been tough for us, as it has for many businesses like ours.

“However, I’m really pleased with how the family has rallied round to accommodate social distancing rules in the studio, which has meant that we’ve been able to continue working while keeping families, newborns and even pets safe at all times.

“The difficulties of the last year has meant that reaching a decade in business feels like an extra special achievement, and we’re looking forward to welcoming people to the studio and attending some fantastic weddings as restrictions continue to lift”.
