Forest Fuels employee finalist in British Renewable Energy Awards

A Forest Fuels employee is celebrating after being shortlisted for one of the bioenergy industry’s most prestigious national awards.

Bella Craddock, who is based at the Okehampton head office, is the company’s customer account manager for the south west of England, and has been shortlisted as a finalist for the Young Renewable Energy Professional at the British Renewable Energy Awards.

Forest Fuels is the country’s leading supplier of premium grade and RHI compliant wood chip and wood pellet.  Reaffirming the impact Bella has made on the business and how valued a team member she has become in just one year, the company is incredibly proud of this impressive achievement.

Forest Fuels’ Managing Director, Peter Solly said, “From day one, Bella has been an integral part of the team. Coming into the role with no background in biomass, just a thirst to learn and an underlying interest in green energy, she took hold of the role and made it her own. This awards selection just highlights how valued she is by both the team and customers alike, and showcases exactly what she has achieved in such a short space of time at the company.”

With a background in estate agency, Bella decided to focus her efforts on a career that really interested her. Living in an off-grid house, she was always looking for ways to change her living habits and become greener and cleaner. And after speaking to a close family member who worked for the Department of Energy and Climate Change, she decided on a career in the biomass sector.

Speaking about her time at Forest Fuels and her awards selection, Bella, said, “I am so proud and grateful for this. Forest Fuels took a chance on me when they took me on last year, and hopefully this shows that I’ve proven myself and demonstrated just what I can do. I really enjoy my job as it’s so varied. I get to meet so many people who really want to make a difference, and that gives me great job satisfaction.”

As a customer account manager, Bella’s role is customer-facing. Based at the company’s head office in Devon, she is often out visiting clients, advising them about their wood fuel, fuel stores, delivery and access arrangements and helping customers with the servicing and optimisation of their biomass boilers. To add to the mix, she also assists the business development team seeking out new opportunities across the south west of England.

Up against some of the brightest young stars in the world of renewable energy, this awards nod is just the latest in a long line of successes for the company. As one of the most successful bioenergy companies in the sector, Forest Fuels act as a beacon for the industry and sets the bar high for others to follow.

The British Renewable Energy Awards is now in its 12th year. The most prestigious event in the UK’s renewable energy industry calendar, it recognises and celebrates the achievements of both companies and individuals who have done something truly amazing in renewables or clean tech over the past year.

The awards will be presented at a glitzy gala dinner in London on June 15th 2017.
