Freshly Formed British Superbike Team OMG Racing to Wildcard at World Superbikes, Donington.

Birmingham, UK, April 30th 2018: British Superbike team OMG Racing will make their debut as a wildcard in the World UK round of the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship at Donington Park, 25-27 May. OMG Racing star Gino Rea is joined as a wildcard by BSB rising star Bradley Ray who has enjoyed a promising start to the season.

Gino is of course no stranger to the World Superbike set-up, having first entered the World Superbike paddock in 2007 in the Superstock class from where he went onto become Superstock 600 Champion and collect 20 podiums and 3 wins across both Moto2 and Supersport World Championships.

Whilst Gino will be a familiar name to many Superbike fans, OMG Racing may not. Managed by former racer Paul Curran of PCR Performance and crew chief Ray Stringer, who already has race-winning experience with the Suzuki GSX-R1000 after a year in the hot seat as Sylvain Guintoli’s crew chief last season.

“We are confident that the new GSX-R1000 will assert itself at Donington and are looking forward to joining the World Superbike Paddock as a wildcard entrant.” states Curran. “Each year BSB continues to show that it is the greatest domestic bike series in the world, and we are confident we can bring something to the World Superbike party.”

OMG Racing will enjoy increased exposure as a result of the growing popularity of World Superbikes on the major global media networks. Italian fans will be sure to be watching out for the progress of Ducati and Marco Melandri, and Aprilia and Lorenzo Savadori. Whilst fans in Spain will be looking to the success of Jordi Torres, Roman Ramos, and Xavi Fores for 2018.

“To be making a wildcard appearance at the Donington World Superbike round with OMG Racing in our first year of competing is incredible and so exciting! We have already been to the circuit this year and we know the Suzuki has great potential there” states Gino.

“It won’t be my first time at a World Superbike event at Donington but it will mark my debut in the World Superbike category. I’ve raced against a lot of the guys in the Championship in the past; Davies, Laverty, Baz, Lowes, Jacobsen etc, so it’s going to be brilliant to line up against the Worlds best Superbike riders again. I was on the podium at Donington Park in 2008 (with Lowes!), 2009 and 2011 (with Davies!) so I have great memories of this British round of World Superbikes! I’m looking forward to seeing everyone there!”
