Hive Minded Habits Launches New Wellness Project For Key Workers

The not-for-profit organisation, Hive Minded Habits has joined forces with an array of experienced wellness practitioners to launch a series of free video resources to help the nation’s key workers release stress, improve mental health and access a toolkit of skills which can be used to improve the health and wellbeing of the whole family.

The brainchild of two working mothers and lifelong friends, Hive Minded Habits started life as a not-for-profit movement to empower businesses and individuals to develop life-changing habits that contribute to good mental health and overall wellness.

Due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, the organisation’s founders Ray Healey and Josy Rolls set about formulating a bespoke programme of videos which demonstrate simple yet effective practices to relieve stress and anxiety of the approximately 7.1 million workers1 on the front line of the coronavirus pandemic.

Designed for those in roles such as healthcare, teachers, government workers and essential services, the series offers a unique blend of wellness practices which can be carried out at home. Activities include yoga, meditation, self-massage and even foraging which can be done to reset after a long day or enjoyed with family members during free time.

Opening up a variety of stress-busting activity suggestions, the unique wellness programme is offered free of charge to key workers and their families in recognition of the tremendous pressure they have been under during the lockdown period. Each video, which is delivered by an expert practitioner, has been selected to tackle real issues such as increased feelings of anxiety and to nurture relaxation by introducing small yet effective new habits to embed wellbeing and self-care into their daily routine.

In addition to calling on wellness practitioners from across the UK, the duo has also fused their combined experience of holistic coaching and wellness.

The Wellness experts include Anna Greenland, the organic food producer for Raymond Blanc, Tom Aikens, Jamie Oliver & Soho Farmhouse, Saskia Griffiths, a pioneer and certified teacher of the Bowspring Method which teaches individuals how to improve their postures through a revolutionary mind-body technique and Shakira Akabusi, a pre and post natal fitness expert, currently pregnant with twins, who is on a on a mission to shatter the Stereotype of Postnatal Fitness and what it means to be a strong mum.

Co-owner of Hive Minded Habits, Ray Healey said, “It’s vitally important that we support the physical and mental wellbeing of our key workers who have done so much for us during the COVID-19 pandemic. We wanted to give something back by offering an invitation to try complimentary home-based therapies, delivered by experienced, respected practitioners, who we ourselves have discovered over the years, in our new video series.

“As mothers ourselves, we know how easy it is to let our needs be side-lined when we are juggling family life, work and all the other aspects of modern living. We also know that mum is often the beating heart of a family and that if we can empower her own wellbeing journey, her family will naturally come along for the ride.

“We created the ‘story of a key worker mum’ to let mums know that we hear them, we appreciate them and that if we can, we want to help them to be the best version of themselves. This is the perfect time to take health and wellbeing off the to do list and start reducing stress, learning tools for relaxation and improving one’s health. It’s worked for us and we want The Key Workers Wellbeing Series to be the starting point of an exciting life long journey for anyone who is ready to start.”
