Kandoo Adventures’ tips to get a 2018 Inca Trail permit

Kandoo Adventures, the high-altitude trekking company, are reminding trekkers to get ready for the release of the 2018 Inca Trail permits and make sure they don’t miss out on a once-in-a-lifetime trek. Instead of new permits becoming available in January as they have been before, this year they will be released in October. Kandoo Adventures are offering a £50 discount plus a low deposit offer of £100 per trekker to make sure nobody is left behind.

Recently, the government in Peru have announced new restrictions on the trail that takes trekkers and travellers to Machu Picchu, with a limit of about 500 people on the trail per day. However, because this figure includes guides and porter crews, only about 200 trekking permits will be made available to the public.

Because of the popularity of the Inca Trail, permits are generally sold out within hours. Issued on a strict first-come, first-served basis, no person or company is allowed to bulk-buy permits; they must be issued to a designated named trekker, for a given start date based on a confirmed booking.

“Conservation is incredibly important,” said Jane Deakin, Managing Director of Kandoo Adventures. “Keeping the Inca Trail and Machu Picchu safe for future generations is something we’re passionate about too, but we want to make sure our trekkers get the full experience of hiking the trail and coming across one of the most breathtaking manmade structures in the world.”

Travellers across the world will be fighting to get to the front of the queue when the new permits are released, so to save stress, would-be trekkers can book early with Kandoo Adventures with a £50 discount and  low deposit price of £100 per person.
