Leading athletic equipment manufacturer gymadvisor is celebrating an impressive quarter following an exciting period of growth, including the release of the world’s first vegan handguards.

Based in London, UK, gymadvisor ltd includes the brands gymadvisor, gymnos, elastech, spriiings, copper science, skild, reset and more. Their mission is to explore every sport and see how they can improve athletic performance through the aid of carefully considered and masterfully made equipment. They do this by working in a constant feedback loop of design, innovation and manufacturing, collaborating with athletes from a huge range of sports.

Kunal Lakhiani gymadvisor founder said, “The idea of gymadvisor has always been to build brands within sports, focusing on the core ways that we can improve equipment and maximise athletic performance.

“While we have been building up the gymadvisor credentials and reputation for years, we have only really started to push our public-facing marketing this year… In such a short amount of time, we have already had an enormous impact on the athletic community. We want everything we do to push boundaries; it needs to be innovative and prove that there is always a better, more strategic way to approach your sporting craft.”

The company was formed in 2011 and has a rich heritage. Most recently, it has secured the role of official gym ring supplier for Tough Mudder. It is also working with Europe’s largest distributor of hand guards, Gymnastic Planet, and has designed and developed the world’s first sports sipper for a copper bottle.

Its gymnastic’s sub brand, gymnos has designed and launched the world’s first vegan hand guards. Curated in collaboration with vegan gymnast, Olyessa Dadema, this industry leading move for plant-based sport is a prime example of their brand ethos.

Kunal added, “The development stage of our vegan hand guards took two years – it was crucial that we got it right.

“This required a lot of trial and error – figuring out the best vegan leather to use and whether we needed to adjust the overall design to ensure total durability and flexibility – and a lengthy approval process.

“The final result is exceptional. As a plant-based athlete myself, this felt like an important product to embed into gymadvisor – we couldn’t be happier with the products.”

The future is bright for gymadvisor. Alongside ongoing product development (focusing on the eleven components of fitness) they are also rolling out a social and community impact layer of the business. First on their agenda is a new equipment scheme for care homes.

Speaking of the project, Kunal said, “Last year I ran 1000km in 100 days to raise money for local care homes. In doing so, I realised that residents weren’t getting enough exercise – and I wanted to do something to change that.

“I am now working on a piece of wheelchair attachable copper equipment (so as not to hold bacteria) for care homes. The equipment will allow the user to perform a variety of exercises while sitting in their chair. The aim is to slow down muscle degeneration; an enormous problem for the elderly.

“It’s something I feel very passionate about; I’m looking forward to sharing the finished product with the world.”
