Leading Materials Handling Supplier Calls For Streamlined Operations In Warehouses To Meet The Growing Demand For Electric And Hybrid Vehicles
The British car manufacturing industry has reported a 13.1% increase in output during February 2023, with a total of 69,707 units produced. The increase in volume is driven by a surge in hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and battery electric vehicle output, which increased by 72.2%, accounting for two in five cars produced in the month.
According to a new survey from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), nine out of ten firms want measures to deliver low-cost, low-carbon energy to help support the transition to zero-emission technologies. The survey highlights the need to ramp up the production of hybrid and electric vehicles.
Phi Chesworth, Managing Director of Midland Pallet Trucks, says, “The recent data released demonstrating the increase in vehicle output from the car manufacturing industry is welcomed news. However, as reported by the SMMT, there’s a need to further increase the output. Warehouses along the vehicle manufacturing supply chain can streamline their operations to help to meet the surge in demand.”
Midland Pallet Trucks offers a range of pallet trucks designed to meet the unique needs of different industries, aimed at improving warehouse organisation.
