Lighting experts urge businesses to switch to LED lighting to increase workers concentration

An online lighting specialist is encouraging businesses to scrap their standard incandescent light bulbs in favour of LEDs in order to enhance productivity amongst their workers.

The recommendation comes following news that a number of different schools are making the switch and are seeing an improvement in results from students.

A £1m program was recently launched that saw 22 schools across Cardiff updating their lighting to LED.

“The decision to switch to more environmentally-friendly LED lighting comes with a number of different benefits”, said Steve Ellwood, Managing Director at BLT Direct. “Unlike incandescent lights, which tend to be harsh and unnatural, LEDs mimic daylight, making them an obvious choice for working environments like schools and offices where it’s important for people to be able to concentrate well. A switch to LED’s will also result in energy savings and lower costs for consumers, so choosing to make a switch is a complete no-brainer.”

While some may think that making a switch to a different type of lighting will be difficult, the process couldn’t be more straightforward. Since their inception, the cost of LED lighting has reduced significantly and they also come in a vast range of colours and temperatures, meaning customers will always be spoilt for choice.
