Lip Fillers in Vogue This Summer, According to Leading Aesthetic Doctor

A leading aesthetic doctor based at Nottingham’s Medical Cosmetics clinic, predicts that lip fillers will be amongst some of the most heavily requested cosmetic treatments for summer 2019. Dr Asher Siddiqi says that many forms of facial injectables, including Botox and dermal fillers for the cheeks, are also on the rise, although clinic records confirm a notable spike in demand for lip augmentation.

Lip filler treatments can be delivered in just 10-15 minutes using a fine needle and topical anaesthetic, with effects noticeable almost immediately. Side effects are typically minor, with redness and mild swelling usually subsiding with an hour or two.

“Cosmetic augmentation is rapidly losing its stigma, especially thanks to quick and simple treatments such as lip fillers which require very little downtime,” says Dr Siddiqi, who acts as the primary aesthetic and health doctor at Medical Cosmetics. “Although we’re seeing a rise in demand for all facial injectables, lip fillers are amongst some of the most commonly requested as the process we use in clinic means our clients can create a look that’s as natural or as enhanced as they want.

“Contrary to popular belief, it’s not just women wanting the Kylie Jenner look that are booking appointments with us,” continues Dr Siddiqi. “We’re seeing men and women of all ages, in all professions, come in simply to bring back their natural, healthy pout which does often start to deflate as a normal part of the aging process.

Lip fillers use hyaluronic acid which is injected into the lips to add volume and enhance the natural shape of the area. Procedures are typically quick and safe, with results that can last for 6 to 12 months. However, Dr Siddiqi is keen to emphasise that lip fillers, while simple, are still categorised as a medical procedure, and must always be carried out by trained and experienced experts to minimise the risk of side effects. Procedures undertaken by unlicensed practitioners can result in poor outcomes

Medical Cosmetics uses Restylane and Juvederm brand lip fillers, which are scientifically proven to deliver excellent results and are considered to be amongst some of the safest brands with top proven track records. Treatments start at £175.
