Love Cocoa Moves into Digital Age with Bitcoin Payment Option

Becomes first chocolate store in the world to accept the digital currency

Inspiring new chocolate company Love Cocoa is now accepting digital currency Bitcoin for its delicious, contemporary creations. Launching just a year ago, the ancestor of the iconic Cadbury brand is proving he doesn’t just have the family talent for crafting tempting bars of chocolate that Brits love but an eye for meeting customer expectations when it comes to convenience too.

James Cadbury, Founder of Love Cocoa, is the great-great-great grandson of Cadbury’s founder John Cadbury. Inspired by his ancestors, Love Cocoa embraces traditional British flavours but gives them a modern twist. Now, almost 200 years after Cadbury’s was founded, Love Cocoa is demonstrating just how much has changed by accepting Bitcoin as payment. The inclusion of Bitcoin comes as the digital currency moves into the mainstream and represents Love Cocoa’s extensive and eager online customer base. With PayPal already accounting for around 60% of accepted payments for the brand’s exquisite treats, the Bitcoin addition will further improve the customer experience.

James Cadbury said, “When Cadbury’s first launched 200 years ago it was an entirely different landscape and the thought of ever accepting digital currency would have been far-fetched. While the love for chocolate has definitely endured, we’ve got to move with the times and look at what will give our customers even more convivence. We already supply products that can easily fit through letter boxes, perfect for online sales, and now we’re allowing our customers to pay with Bitcoin too.”

Just a week after accepting the secure currency a number of customers have already chosen to pay with the popular coin. Bitcoin can be used to purchase across the whole of the Love Cocoa range, including the brand’s attractive subscription boxes, ensuring heavenly bars of chocolate land on customers’ doorsteps every month. With a selection of tasty flavours, including Earl Grey milk chocolate and gin and tonic dark chocolate, there’s something for everyone. Love Cocoa hasn’t only reinvented chocolate classics but considered the modern shopper too, free from refined sugars, gluten, and soya it’s possible to enjoy the chocolate guilt free.
