The high-end handbag and accessories label, Isabella Hearst New York has been sold to a private investor in New York City, the brand’s founder and head designer has announced today.
As she says goodbye to the company she created, designer Ashley Hearst Agron confirmed the new owner will continue to make the brand’s statement designs in New York City and has ambitions to see Isabella Hearst New York bags stocked in Niemen Marcus and London’s Selfridges.
Ms. Agron said, “I’m so proud of everything that Isabella Hearst New York represents and am certain that the new owner will continue to fully embrace the style and aesthetics that have made Isabella Hearst New York designs so iconic in such a short space of time. This is the beginning of an exciting new chapter, both for me personally and the Isabella Hearst New York label.”
A favourite of celebrities and style mavens around the world, Ashley Hearst Agron founded her luxurious eponymous line in 2014. The company is named in loving memory of her great grandmother. The designer, who took the red carpet by storm with her fun, fabulous collection of statement clutches and covetable designer handbags during awards season, will now relinquish creative control following the sale.
Ms. Agron is moving to London, England, where she will marry her fiancé this summer. The ceremony will take place August 12, with the couple set to exchange vows at a private Windsor Estate. Following the wedding, the designer will begin work on her next project; a brand new store in London’s fashion-forward Soho neighborhood.
Set to open in fall, California Dreamin’ will take loungewear to decadent new heights with pajamas and lingerie made of 100% Egyptian cotton and imported laces.
The Isabella Hearst New York collection includes the standout ‘No Paparrazi’ clutch in buttery soft leather, which grabbed as many column inches as the starlets strutting their stuff in LA in the run up to the Oscars this year.
