New Mum Launches 18+ Chat Site to Offer Safer Employment within the Sex Industry after Career in Financial Services

A new mum who’s contract in the financial services sector came to a premature end due to COVID-19 has launched a new adult webcam chat site after realising how unregulated and dangerous the industry could be for those considering sex work to make ends meet during the pandemic. UK Glam Cam specialises in British models and aims to both normalise and transform the existing online sex work industry while facilitating socialisation during difficult times.

While users are able to interact with people from all across the globe, UK Glam Cam focuses on models in the UK where COVID-19 restrictions have ranked amongst the strictest in the world. With social distancing rules stating that those from separate households must remain at least six feet from each other, and must not meet in private indoor settings, UK Glam Cam offers an innovative way for both men and women to meet one of the most basic of human needs at a time when rules and regulations attempt to prevent it.

The new camera-based website allows for users to meet, talk, and engage with online sex workers in a safe, secure, and socially distant environment, removing the worries and concerns associated with face-to-face interactions and the risk of viral spread. With a simple click, users can filter by age, location, orientation, cup size, zodiac sign, and special skills, making it easy to form connections with those who exhibit certain qualities and characteristics.

Leighanne Fuller, Founder of UK Glam Cam said, “According to the Office for National Statistics, unemployment hit record levels between July and September this year, reaching 314,000. People have lost their jobs, lost their income, lost their livelihood, and at the same time people have also lost their social interaction, with feelings of isolation and loneliness skyrocketing.

“I’m one of many who have found myself in both of these situations simultaneously. I lost my contract earlier than expected in January of last year and had a baby in April. I had planned to go back to work in summer but struggled to find a new contract in the financial services sector.  I considered sex work but there was a lot of very low paid sex work online exploiting models in an unsafe environment without caring for their wellbeing in any form. I had noticed people on social media platforms who were now desperate for an income offering all sorts of things ignoring the dangerous element which is when I decided to create a safe place. I wanted to normalise this kind of work so it wasn’t so derogatory.

“UK Glam Cam is a lifeline for models and visitors, supporting the mental health of users who inherently seek socialisation, and providing unlimited earning potential for those who are struggling financially.”

A former IT Project Manager who has worked for each of the big four banks, Fuller is just one in a huge number who has struggled to find a new role. A recent report by The Independent confirms that, as a direct result of job losses and professional uncertainties, the cam sex industry has been ‘booming’ under lockdown.

UK Glam Cam aims to do things differently to the online sex work platforms of the past, transforming the landscape to create a safer, secure, and more supportive environment which protects online sex workers during this difficult time. All models accepted by the site are provided with a startup promotional box that includes everything needed to get started on webcam, and training opportunities are also available to help build confidence and knowledge.
