Sales surge as Not Just Travel sees 82% increase in the last 7 days

With the uncertainty of Brexit looming over us, it’s fair to say that many of us weren’t sure what to expect from Peaks this year. However, if Not Just Travel’s stats are anything to go by, we don’t have anything to worry about.

In fact, the business has seen a huge surge in holiday sales over the month of January, blowing any concerns completely out of the water. Co-Founder Steve Witt said,

“Having been to a number of conferences and trade events recently, there’s definitely been one word on everyone’s lips, and that’s Brexit. We had anticipated a possible decline in European travel but were estimated to remain on track to exceed last year’s figures.”

What they hadn’t anticipated was surpassing last year’s figures by a whopping 82%, setting a brand-new record for sales in the last 7 days alone. This includes holidays to South America up by 126%, Sri Lanka has seen an increase of 150% and Turkey holidays have also increased by a staggering 148%.

Despite concerns that sales could be impinged by the Brexit negotiations that have dominated the media, Not Just Travel are seemingly bucking the trend, with an 80% increase in customers booking holidays to Spain this year. Steve said that the past week has “beaten all expectations”, and they’re now looking forward to what the rest of the year has in store.

Investing in their franchisees

Not Just Travel’s home-based Travel Consultants have seen strong and steady growth year on year, with franchise recruitment also on the up, and with such a big end to the month, there’s certainly no sign of them slowing down in February, either.

Having worked very closely with the franchisees over the last year, Co-founder Paul Harrison believes their success is all down to the entrepreneurial spirit exhibited by their franchisees. Steve and Paul hosted two training sessions at the beginning of the year, which saw franchisees have one-to-one time for personal and business development.

It is this time that is invested into the franchisees that they believe has led them to have such a successful start to the year. Paul said “I am amazed by the results our Travel Consultants have achieved this month. I’ve seen their skills, knowledge and confidence grow massively over the last few months, and that’s why we’re seeing such fantastic figures.”

The pair work very closely with their franchisees, hosting training events across the year, and this has meant a great start to the year for their partners, too. As a business who pride themselves on building close relationships with their suppliers, the figures are looking stronger than ever. When taking a closer look at the stats, Not Just Travel saw a 236% increase in TUI bookings, a 150% increase in bookings with Beachcomber, and a rise in JTA sales by 128%.

As we plough into the second phase of Peaks, Not Just Travel has another jam-packed month ahead. With the final stages of their brand-new website being implemented, two groups of new franchisees joining the team at Not Just Travel HQ for training weeks already this year, and even more fresh faces joining the corporate team in marketing and operations, it’s a very exciting time for Not Just Travel.
