Sheffield Clinic Blending Western and Eastern Philosophies Scoops South Yorkshire Award in Prestigious Accolades

Sheffield-based clinic Urban Acupuncture has secured a prestigious award thanks to its blended, bespoke approach which delivers real relief to patients with numerous health issues. The business, which is owned by acupuncturist Kimberly Shepherd, was named the Best Acupuncture Clinic in South Yorkshire 2018 at the respected industry GHP Alternative Medicine & Holistic Health Awards.

The practice treats a wide variety of complaints, from patients suffering from sciatica to those facing depression, but has specialist experience in women’s health and natural conception.

Shepherd commented, “I’m thrilled to have been announced as a winner at the GHP awards. It proves that our way of working is beneficial for our patients. So many of my patients feel like they’re not being heard when they go down traditional medical routes and Urban Acupuncture offers an alternative.

“When you think of acupuncture, it’s normally needles that spring to mind. But our treatment goes far beyond that to incorporate numerous proven philosophies to get bodies and minds operating at the optimal level. Supporting couples on their fertility journey is a hugely rewarding experience, and I’m always looking for ways to improve our multi-disciplinary approach.”

Urban Acupuncture blends both western and eastern philosophies to common health concerns to craft holistic approaches unique to every patient. While acupuncture is a core part of what the clinic offers, it’s also complemented by other services and advice, such as natural remedies or dietary guidance.

Shepherd believes in continual learning and development in order to help her patients tackle the health issues they’re facing. She works with a variety of health professionals, including consultants and nutritional therapists, to offer effective, integrated health plans that are tailored to deliver optimal levels of health for each person. As a member of the British Acupuncture Council, patients know that the practice is maintained to a very high standard and the treatment offered has been approved under certain private health insurers.

Shepherd added, “Having won the GHP award, I’m already looking to the future and the next steps for the clinic. Taking the success of our Sheffield based practice, a sister clinic will be opening its doors in Australia in 2019. The next 12 months mark a really exciting time for Urban Acupuncture and the start of our expansion plans.

“I believe the future of healthcare needs to be far more holistic, with specialist healthcare professionals working together for the wellbeing of patients, and it’s an ambition I am going to continue working towards by forging collaborations that will improve the health of our patients.”
