The UK’s Local Running Coach Comes to Reading

For runners that have been inspired by the London marathon and other running events across the country, the UK’s leading network of professional, motivating running coaches has come to Reading. Through connecting highly qualified coaches with running enthusiasts, We Run aims to start a revolution across the city that will not only support those already participating in the sport but encourages more people to get involved too.

Millions of people across the UK regularly run for both fun and fitness and Reading is home to several clubs too, including Reading Roadrunners. With more than 80 running coaches being involved in the We Run network, the organisation is the largest of its kind in the UK and has an extensive range of services just the touch of a button away. It puts the knowledge runners need to advance at their fingertips, helping to improve technique, build up speed, and set achievable goals with a dedicated plan. One-on-one coaching also provides runners with the perfect opportunity to learn more about nutrition, ask niggling questions, and ensure they’re reducing risk of injury.

Coach Alexa, of Reading, is the latest addition to We Run’s team of more than eighty running coaches working across the UK. A member of local running club Reading Roadrunners, Coach Alexa is qualified as a Coach in Running Fitness via the National Governing Body for running, UK Athletics.

“I am excited to be supporting more local runners to achieve their goals and improve their running!”, said Coach Alexa.

John White, Founder and Director of We Run, said “Many runners think coaching is only for elite athletes. But we have helped people of all abilities to optimise their running. From absolute beginners wanting to set the foundations right and progress to working with fast runners that are already part of an established club, ultimately, we want to help people to get more enjoyment from running. We started with just a handful of coaches in London but we’re thrilled to be growing and now delivering our carefully crafted services to runners in Reading.”

Being an NHS nurse and passionate runner, White used his unique perspective and own experience of working with a professional running coach –

which he describes as ‘transformational’ – to launch We Run in 2014.

With both face-to-face and digital services, We Run is flexible and perfect for working around busy lifestyles. Among We Run’s offering is a Runner’s MOT, a full 90-minute head-to-toe running analysis, and custom running plans designed with personal goals in mind.
