TV Chef Damian Wawrzyniak to Appear on IrisH TV as Polish Feast Arrives in Town

Top chef and Polish food star, Damian Wawrzyniak will travel to Ireland and appear on Irish TV 3 for this first time next month as he brings his signature blend of Polish dishes and international flair to the Emerald Isle. Chef Wawrzyniak’s stop in Dublin marks the latest leg of his Polish Feast – an international food tour taking in destinations across Europe and the USA.

The TV chef will demonstrate several of his family favourite traditional Polish dishes to millions of TV viewers on TV3’s breakfast show, as part of the PolskaEire Festival, organised by the Polish Embassy in Ireland.

PolskaEire Festival is an annual nationwide celebration of Irish-Polish friendship and cultural exchange. Now in its third edition, this year’s PolskaEire Festival encompasses approximately 70 events in 20 locations around Ireland. The Polish Feast is one of the highlights of this year’s edition.

Launched in the kitchen of Jamie Oliver’s FIFTEEN last summer, the Polish Feast food tour is a journey of discovery, with Chef Wawrzyniak travelling the length and breadth of the British Isles before heading further afield to showcase the final undiscovered food frontier – Polish cuisine.

Inspired by his childhood in the family kitchen, and feasts with friends later in life, Polish Feast packs in a medley of mouth-watering Polish dishes at each stop, with popular treats including flavoursome chicken broth (rosol), silesian dumplings (kluski slaskie) and pierogis and meatballs (kotlety). There is also schnitzel with crushed dill potatoes (schabowy z okraszanymi ziemniakami) and a selection of pickles, salads, potatoes and greens. For desert, cheesecake (sernik), poppy seed cake (makowiec) and apple pie (jablecznik) tempts guests to indulge their sweet tooth, all washed down with vodka and salt and a range of other traditional beverages.

Chef Wawrzyniak said, “I’m really excited to appear in Ireland for the first time and bring my Polish Feast to the PolskaEire Festival in Dublin. I can’t wait to cook up a few dishes during my live TV appearance on Irish breakfast TV on TV3.”

Chef Wawrzyniak’s Polish Feast 2017 is sponsored by Grant Sous Vide and Sous Vide Tools. It is supported by the Polish Tourist Association with the Polish Embassy holding honorary patronage, saying “We are pleased to announce that the Polish Embassy in London took Honorary Patronage over the First Ever Polish Culinary Tour across Great Britain.”
