TV Chef Damian Wawrzyniak Appointed By The Belle As It Targets Two Rosettes

Celebrity chef Damian Wawrzyniak has been appointed as a food consultant at The Belle Freehouse in Bassingbourn as the traditional-meets-modern dining destination targets two Rosettes.

Chef Wawrzyniak’s consultancy work will focus on kitchen design and food architecture, and will see him working with The Belle’s team to develop new dishes. He said, “I’m delighted to be working with The Belle and have already spent a lot of time with the team. I have engineered a new menu and I’m working on producing great food together with Head Chef, Michael Kirby and his team.

“Since I came to The Belle, sales have increased dramatically so the work the whole team has put in is already paying off. Customer feedback has also been wonderful with lots of diners liking the new dishes and new food choices.”

The Belle Freehouse is located in the picturesque village of Bassingbourn, eight miles from the city of Cambridge. With a log burning stove and cosy, welcoming bar area, The Belle Freehouse is a charming, eclectic mix of modern and traditional with food focused on sumptuous dishes made with local and artisanal produce.

The new look menu includes confit duck, scallops, slow cooked rare breed pork belly, rustic lamb and a selection of dishes from the grill. A six course food and wine tasting menu includes pan fried hake and lamb canonnon in a rosemary and garlic infusion.
