Who Are Ya? The fastest-growing daily game since Wordle!

Wordle took the internet by storm in late 2021 gaining millions of daily players in a short space of time. With the task of pitting their wits against a mystery 5 letter word with very few clues. Wordle became so popular that the New York Times stumped up a seven-figure sum to purchase the game from its creator Josh Wardle back in January this year.

2022’s answer to the hit daily game asks the question Who Are Ya? Where users get 8 guesses to discover the mystery person based initially on nothing more than a blurred photo. There are multiple games on offer with celebs, footballers, basketballers and many other sports to boot.

The game has really taken off with the website receiving over 25 million page views in April alone.

The way the game works is after each guess, you can see what elements of the missing person you got correct. For example, in the celeb game, you get an insight into their profession, gender, nationality, net worth and age before making your next guess. In the guess below (6/5/22) you can see we got the profession, gender and nationality of the person correct, but the person’s net worth and age are lower. We can then use these clues towards our next guess and the image gets clearer each time. I think I know who it is now 🙂
